Hand-polished to a mirror-finish, its lustre will not fade, and is easily maintained by buffing with a soft cloth.
The clock and stand are precision deep-engraved with the Latin inscription: TRANSIT UMBRA - LUX PERMANET: SHADOW PASSES, LIGHT REMAINS.
